River Ott

River James Ott, age 21, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on May 14, 2026. River was born on June 3, 2004, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Jamie McGowan and Nicholas Gentry Ott.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James McGowan; aunt, Shaina Satterfield; and uncle, Carl Donaldson.

River is survived by his parents, Jamie May and husband Brandon May, and Nicholas Ott and Kim Norton; grandparents, Tim Ott, Mary Mack, Sherry Satterfield, Mike Satterfield, Bill May, and Barbara May; siblings, Jolene Colbert, Isabella Ott, Shane May, Joey May, and El May; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

River graduated Cum Laude from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas, in 2022. During high school, he earned a four-year certificate of completion through the United States Air Force Junior ROTC program.

River was a true car enthusiast who loved his friends, his dogs, and his family beyond measure. He radiated pure light and love and carried the spirit of an old soul. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing Xbox and was affiliated with multiple car groups.

His laugh was contagious and could light up any room he entered, especially with his unforgettable 6’5” presence.

In keeping with his generous spirit, River gave the gift of life through organ donation, including his beautiful blue eyes.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
